Ms. Ilka Doubek has been a professional ballet and modern dancer since 1973. She has collaborated with various renowned choreographers, theater and opera directors internationally. She has guested as a solo dancer and/or choreographed in many of the major European opera houses where most of her career has been focused. She has choreographed ballets, modern dances, opera dances and movement internationally. She completed all of the Royal Academy of Dance Grade and Vocational Exams by the age of 17. She studied in Omaha, San Diego, New York, Canada and France where she also performed. She has received numerous scholarships and grant awards. She was a member of the Omaha Ballet, the San Diego Ballet, the Frankfurt Ballet and the Hamburg Ballet before touring with her Solo Dance Concerts internationally. She is a certified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, and is a ballet examiner with the Dance Masters of America. She is a guest master teacher and choreographer for ballet and modern dance with professional companies, schools and universities in many countries.
Litchfield Dance Arts Academy, going into its fourteenth year, still promotes "the education of dance and the fine arts" in the Pawleys Island community. "Our passionate intentions remain blatantly honest: An education in dance, if it is a good fit can only be a "win-win" situation for our children and their development," explains Ms. Ilka Boubek. She explains further, "As concerned parents, we all want the best for our children. In LDAA's demanding, yet nurturing atmosphere we continue our commitment to offer a top quality education to both beginning and highly accomplished dance students alike. For career or fun we remain the premier dance school on the Grand Strand. The achievements and successes of all our students on all levels speak for themselves. We are proud, we are devoted and we will continue to serve what we strongly believe in and know how to do, namely teach dance with heart and soul."
As the office manager for LDAA plus having my line dance classes there, I see first hand the quality of instruction the students receive there. Along with Ms. Ilka, Mandy Siefers and Rachel Ayers are two exceptional instructors who round out the exemplary group of instructors in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Lyrical and Hip Hop. In addition to the instructors I have the opportunity to work with two very professional ladies in the office, Sally Anderson and Sallie Anderson. (That's right, 2 Sally Andersons!)
It is with much pride that I am associated with such a distinguished group of people and if you are looking for lessons for your children or grandchildren, I hope you will consider Litchfield Dance Arts Academy.
